First camera panasonic hdc sd800

What's up y'all. I'm fairly new to film. It's always been a passion of mine but over the last year I've really been immersing myself in it trying to learn as much as possible. I'm currently finishing up a short screenplay with the hopes of filming it this summer. I need a camera and was looking into the panasonic hdc sd800. Mainly because it films really good quality and is relatively cheap (6-700) compared to simlar cameras. Does anyone have experience with this camera, advice, or any tips in general. Thanks every1

Looks like a good cam, use your histogram and use lights to keep everything exposed so you can see all the texture in the brightest whites and the darkest blacks. OHHH and BE CREATIVE ! Good Luck !

There is no mic input. So you will need an audio recorder for
your shotgun microphone. The further away the mic is from
the actors, the higher the volume needs to be. The higher
the volume, the more “noise” you get. Your goal is to have
a very high signal to noise ratio - more signal (the dialogue)
less noise (the background). The mic on the camera will pick
up a lot of background ambiance because it’s far away from
the actors.

Other than the audio issue (easily fixed but at an added cost)
that's a fine camera to use to make your short film.
