Does selling your script online really work?

Could uploading your script to somewhere like sellascript.com really lead to a sale, or is a site like this just a big scam?

Anyone had any luck with this?

It’s not a scam. Meaning they are not telling you something that
cannot happen will happen.

However...

A quick look at their “Success Stories” page omits some very
important details. Do some research about the agents and prodCo’s
and managers they do mention.

I do not believe they are misleading or lying. They send out mass
emails to their 8,646 contacts. All of these contacts know about
these kinds of services. If the $85 to be listed with dozens of
other writers in a mass email is worth it to you I know they will
do what they say - send out an email to 8,646, agents, managers,
prodCo’s and producers. Take a look at Janet Reid’s blog from
three years ago. Her take is pretty much what all industry
professionals think.

Their coverage rates are fair. If their readers are any good,
these rates are excellent. Take a look at their forums. Not much
happening there. I suspect if their site was a valuable tool for
writers there would be some activity.

inktip has a few success stories. Most are those “One dollar”
options deals but a few scripts have been sold to very low budget
independent producers. Agents, legit managers, producers and
prodCo’s just don’t go hunting on line for scripts. At least not
very often.
