So me "my job" is to get the funding.

on the backing of my website.

and as a production company my plan is to do something different,

screenwriters, directors, artists all get production credits

my job is to get the funding which i can,

you get your profile on the site, to show of you have a great looking website behind you

plus I will put links to your directing videos on my site

I looked at your site. I must be honest, I do not like the
“Matrix” theme you used. It looks as if you are not very original.
You have at least two typos. That is less than professional. And
using a free Hotmail account seems less than professional to me,
too.

All these red flags are easily corrected but they do raise concerns.
You’re a graphic artist with 10 years of experience; I would like to
see a main page that does not use that old, overused, tired “Matrix”
waterfall of numbers. I would be more impressed to see something
original.

Perhaps you don’t understand that making the claim that your
company partners with major studios is what all startups do. And at
this moment it’s not true. Right now you have not partnered with
any major studio. I believe that someday you will; putting that claim
on you site is another red flag.

I love your enthusiasm and I believe you will achieve your goals so I
think you should address your web site issues. There is nothing at all
wrong about starting up - making claims that are not current is not
good business.

The team route is the way to go for sure. I'm glad to see more and more independent prod co's go this route.

Directorik has some great advice. It's never fun hearing criticism, but if you're going to make films it's one of the things you have to get used to haha. If you listen to it and take heed it'll make a big difference I think!

All in all, I think you should loose the animated gifs all-together. Find some successful sites that do what you want to do and emulate it. Remember, simple and elegant is good. Look at the google homepage, it's about as simple as it get's and it's one of the best sites out there.

Good luck!

Let me be honest.
I love the idea, but please, make the webpage reflect the potential.
It looks like something a kid would make after learning HTML in 1998.
Grainy, low res, tacky... I don't want to sound like an asshole, but if someone looking for a prodCo takes a look at that, they will not even consider hiring you.

Get rid of the animations, go for something simple, elegant and user friendly. Reduce content to the minimum. ie: you don't need to plaster your email adress all over the site, when you have a contact page.

Thanks Directorik, Maybe I will remove the matrix section , but I did design the site with that pattern idea to the sides in mind as I want to show we will be creating science films also.

That effect has been around before the matrix, maybe your right but I will have to replace it with something cause I will have two black spaces on the sides of the main page.

I thought you would of all been impressed how I made the camera real on the left on the main pages? that took ages of placement and scale as its not just made from slices.

I think the sites dynamic and I really like it. I have a camera animating with like old film effect for the V? took a while to get it just right.

I will change the matrix effect though I will have to think about what to replace it with.

Thanks for your comments, and yes that's what I'm wanting to achieve a team effort abroad.

What typos do you see on my site if you don't mind?

I've gone threw it a few times comma's in wrong sections?

Also I have taken a look at a few production company websites, and there is no animations at all just a few pages that looks like they just downloaded a html template.

I want my site to stand out.

I am also planning on putting a 3D character running around in their somewhere lol

I have already met one screenwriter threw here so happy with that.

Thanks for your critique and some praise.

cheers
Mark :)

Got to be honest, I agree with everything the others have said. The animations don't look too good. Keep it simple.

Thanks Mad Hatter, Like the name by the way lol - disney they should make a 3D version of that movie .

I will implement the changes right now. Thanks

If you see any other errors your help appreciated.

(Also I may turn my animations to flash on the site they wont look grainy, just wanted the site to be user friendly even without flash)

thanks
Mark

Your site may be kewl, as you have said, but it's not professional.
You do not need a lot of things moving around to stand out - you
need a production company web site to be accurate and informative
to stand out. Right now your site looks like an amateur trying to
make it look "kewl". You make claims that are not true and accurate
and that makes it look unprofessional.

In my opinion what you should be going for at this stage is understated
and honest. Sure, saying you partner with major studios might
attract people who know nothing about the business, but right now
you are attempting to get people with experience to join you. Writers
and directors with experience know you are not partnered with major
studios and producers so that makes you seem less then honest. I
know you WANT to be partnered with major studios and producers
and I believe someday you will be. But right now you are not. Ease
up on the hyperbole. You are a start up company looking for people
to join you - say that. When you make that first deal with a major
studio THEN put that on your site. Get people on board because you
are a hard worker with vision. I'd be honored to join you and get on
board, but I'm not going to connect my name to that website - it
looks unprofessional. That might be to harsh, but I think you the
right attitude and enthusiasm and I'd like to see you website reflect
that.

In addition to the two mad hatter pointed out you use the word
"alot" - there is no such word in the English language. There is "allot"
- look up its meaning before you use it - but no alot.

Congrats! When do you make your first movie?

Hi Thanks Directorik,

will be this year (funding aquired this year) whole process usually takes about 9 months i'd say first movie be next year early next year thats the goal.

I will certainly post the trailer here when I have it.

cheers
Mark
