RICK PERRY
(flashing the Victory Sign)
Second off, I haven't done anything wrong...okay?

Hopefully it's all right not to block that quote out with spoiler tags.

All of them are pretty fun stuff. Nice work.

To save anyone the trouble of looking it up...In fact, it may be better to view the actual Rick Perry "Strong" Ad before watching the send-up.

Oh, wow. A lot of people might find the "Mens Room" short to be a tad offensive. But I gotta be honest -- I laughed. That totally took me off guard.

I enjoyed the 55-Hour Energy commercial. It got right to the point, and the absurd humor worked for me.

The Rick Perry one is cool. There is one thing I gotta mention, though, filmmaking-wise. You killed the line of action. The entire short completely ignored the 180-rule. If you've got two people conversing with each other, then the line of action is clearly between them. That means that if you're to follow the 180-rule, then when you cut back-and-forth, they should be looking in opposite directions, from the perspective of the viewer. If, like in your video, they're both looking to the right of the screen, then you're not observing the 180-rule. The humor in the short still works, without following that rule, but by not observing it, that's just another way to make it feel amateurish.

Speaking of which, I'd be glad to see what you can do if you start paying attention to lighting, and all that stuff. Your content is nice. Time to start making it look good. :)

Nice.
Makes me wanna do some commercial parodies, as well.

On the Rick Perry parody there's some green screen spill on the jacket shoulder that can be eliminated by moving the actor farther away forward from the screen.

Lighting on the other two... yeah.

... if you want a real laugh... 3 lights from around the house i pull together to try and get lighting proper! lol :) work with what you got i guess!
There's always free sunlight from outside!

First i want to thank you all again for watching them and also giving great feedback! This will help me a lot and its thanks to you all!

Cracker funk I know what you are talking about with the Rick Perry, I didnt understand why it wasnt grabbing my attention. I couldnt find out why it didnt have that big punch line like in the other ones, your explanation really helped with that. I need to start reading up more on rules to follow and books about creating movies. So the 180 rule makes total sense now!

Rayw Thank you for the link and will do on the moving me away from the green screen! that shall be my next goal when shooting! I appreciate it!

As for the lighting, I have been working on it. This is my latest video up and I created it Friday. The lighting is getting on the right track, still always room for improvement though. let me know what you think?

I use a 90 dollar camera with onboard mic, Have a 20 dollar mic for voice over, I taped together a green screen with 6 green boards, and 3 lights from around the house i pull together to try and get lighting proper! lol :) work with what you got i guess! I wanted to have the basics down before getting better equipment!

Again a thanks to all of you for the help!!!!
