Guess I'll figure it out myself like I've had to do with everything else.

I prefer Premiere, but a lot of people I know swear by Vegas.

I like the Adobe compatibility between Photoshop and After Effects back into Premiere. Very slick and I use all 3 in tandem.

This post was originally really long and had about 10 seperate questions in it. But after a few days I figured it was too intimidating for anyone to answer.. but eventually I think the answer is pretty close to what you said. I think the Adobe suite carries much more versatility at the risk of stability and ease of use, but ten again none of us ride bicycles with training wheels just to make life easy.
