Getting on iTunes for $99

Unfortunately, the tactic is old and Apple's putting the breaks on it.

Big Buck Bunny was a great example of a very clean app and an appealing short film.

They sold through the app DVD's and Blu Rays.

This was part of my early business plan for Superseeds in late 2009, but we dropped it due to the expense of getting a good app made and the sort of data-trafficking you would need to sustain it. THe business plan, however, was quite effective in getting me certain things that we needed.

Above all, getting people to download it for .99c en masse (You'd need to clear 100K downloads to make near 50K) would require more money than it's worth.

Until they cap it finally (Which they've already begun to do), short films = good idea.

The easier thing to do is to just partner with a company that's an affiliate for iTunes Movie Downloading Service or take advantage of the somewhat open door policy going on now.

Thanks Kholi, figures Im a bit behind the times.. lol

Just for information's sake, any recommends on affiliates?

Man, I'm drawing banks. indiePix I think was one of them.

But, there must be a nice amount now, after two years passed.

Also, I need to find that article about the new "relaxed" policy of iTunes for content.

I think they changed the split to 60/40 as well.

If I can remember where it is I'll link you up.
