Should I get an anamorphic lens?

I might get one more depending on costs. I was looking at anamorphic and here is an example:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anamorphic_format

What I don't get though is why are these lenses so good, if the image is stretched? In the full frame, the canyon is tall. In the anamorphic, it is much wider, and shorter. So wouldn't an anamorphic cause peoples head's to compress and flatten, and be wider than they should be, along with everything else in the image?

Please god no. If you're still learning how to expose, going anamorphic is not a good idea… and if you'd read the article properly you'd know exactly why anamorphic lenses are used. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to try and explain it when there's already a perfectly well-written explanation right in front of you.

LOL
I know, I know.

Look... If I meant it I wouldn't have said it.

H&K, Monica!
