Alright fellow filmmakers. I have a super cheap, easy, and effective way to turn a ping pong ball gun, nerf gun, or squirt gun into a ray gun.

Step one, spray paint the whole gun flat black. Let dry.
Step two, Take a plastic object, and spray paint metallic silver on it.
Step three, Take a rag and get some of the silver paint onto the rag.
Step four, Rub the rag on the gun until you get a stressed metal look.

Approx. $7 minimum.

yeah i did this with some cheap squirt guns 5 in a pack for $1.50 but i used grey primer black spray paint and gold paint. used a rag to wipe on the gold paint ,looks good but the only problem is the trigger does not stay painted..it usually rubs off..

Just keep a black paint pen on you in case it does, or mask everything but the trigger, and do a ton of coats of paint.

tru but they are so cheap i can easly remove the triger...i was going to do a zombi steampunk..but i think that has fallen thru because no one is going out that weekend before or halloween....;)
