D Dax Aug 19, 2011 #1 I'm trying to figure out the best way I can export 7d files on final cut 5.1. I notice that there isn't any option for h.264 or even 1080p on final cut 5.1.

D DirtyPicturesTV Aug 20, 2011 #2 Use another app to convert it to ProRes first, and you'll be good to go. One of my favorite apps, MPEG Streamclip, will do the job -- and it's free. http://blog.vincentlaforet.com/2009/11/02/converting-that-h264-footage/ Upvote 0 Downvote

I'm confused… you want to export a video file with the same bitrate, codec etc. as one recorded on a 7D? If you have Compressor that's probably your best bet, but I don't know if a version that old will have any support for H.264 files. If not, export a regular .mov file from Final Cut and use the MPEG Streamclip software that DirtyPicturesTV recommended to convert it. Upvote 0 Downvote
