Hi, I'm new to filmmaking and have almost no budget. Is the Samsung SCD-27 mini DV camcorder worth the money? How is the video quality?
Any information on the pros and cons of this camera would be greatly appreciated.

Here's (http://reviews.cnet.com/Samsung_SCD27/4852-6500_7-20885339.html?tag=dir) a list of user reviews I found on the web, but these are never the be all and end all of deciding a good camera. These people may have different needs than you. And as you can see by the bottom review, some folks don't take it seriously.

I have always had bad experiences with products manufactured by Samsung, as has a few of my freinds. If I were you, I'd go for a Sony camera that is in the same price range.

I should have mentioned that the problems weren't with cameras, but other stuff. I bought a DVD player a while back that flat out refused to work right, and once I recieved a CD player that crapped out after a month. Both were Samsung products.

I'm also lookin at a TRV 19 since its one of the only things i can afford...
