I had a legal expert research the paperwork necessary for low and no budget productions.

With paying gigs, a release form and work-for-hire contract is suggested.

For no pay, a release form is still needed. But, a custom agreement between the actor and producer stating what each party is going to give each other and any liability is suggested. Both parties need to sign the agreement. The actor performs their duties within the time frame of the shooting schedule and makes themselves available for postproduction needs such as ADR in return for say, meals, transportation, a screen credit, and IMDB credit, and a DVD copy of the final cut. I'm offering back more than that with my agreements. But, this still serves as a good example.

Just the facts. Consider this information sharing. The legal experts who did the research are a lawyer and a paralegal.

The agreements were drawn up for me by a lawyer and a paralegal who did research on these types of agreements and made them custom for my production.

Contracts?

Just google them.
