Looking for a DIRECTOR for a quirky romantic comedy short film shooting in NYC May/June, intended for festivals. There is a stipend available.
We had a very successful Kickstarter campaign last month, and exceeded our financial goal there. We have had a lot of buzz in the film community and Internet about the project, and think it will be a very rewarding film to work on.
Influences for the movie include "AMELIE", and "AUDREY AND EINSTEIN", and we are looking for someone who really "gets" the quirky/funny/heartfelt tone of the film and is really excited about it.
Production will be in Manhattan, and prefer a NY Metro-area director, but will consider talent from all areas if you provide your own transportation and lodging.
Film will be shot with a RED camera, and will be using SAG actors.
It would also be very helpful if you can recommend a quality DP willing to work within our budget that is experienced with the RED camera, (although not necessary).
Overall, we are looking for a talented, easy to work with director, who really "gets" and loves our project!
Students are also welcomed.
