Canon XL2 - crosshairs

Trying to view crosshairs or a grid in my viewfinder. Anyone know if this is possible with the Canon XL2? If so, how to do it? Thanks.

Saran wrap, scotch tape and a sharpie... just make an overlay.

Nope. No crosshairs in the XL series. You'll need to improvise.

Guess I will have to. I'm pretty surprised Canon wouldn't put a small option to do that???

Well, the XL-H1 (the HD version) does have crosshairs. I just know my XL1s doesn't have them, just the 16:9 guides. Yours doesn't need the 16:9 guides because it's native 16:9.

Side note, are you sure the XL2 doesn't have it, Knightly? According to this, it does:

I thought he was talking about the thirds guides that some cameras have to aid framing... sorry.

No need to be sorry. He may have been talking about that, and I'm the one off base.

But at least now I know there's something else the XL2 has that my XL1s doesn't have.

Thanks for the help guys. I was actually on the phone with the manufacturer finding out about the center mark when I noticed Turner's post on it.
