make your own camera?

I saw a post on here a while ago about building your own film quality camera or something. You buy the instructions and it tells ya how to for cheap, I believe it was suggested by someone. I just can't see to find it now. Anyone know the site? Thanks.

A Lego Camera....now there's an idea for the young folks!

Basically get some affordable Camera pieces to "put together" and show kids how a camera works-that's a neat idea! :)

Well its not a make your own camera, sorry for the confusion, its where you take your camera and the intstructions show how to alter it for cheap by adding things to turn it into a kind of professional style camera.

Lots of info out there, but can you be more specific about what it is you would like to do?

DIY ultrahigh resolution camera

This isn't exactly what you mean by 'film quality', but an idea could be to get 4 cheap 1920x1080 cameras
and rip them apart to create a single camera that uses a glass/mirror to send 2 sets of images to 2 sets of sensors (each set has 2 or more sensors). Thus gaining a resolution of 4320x1920 or higher.

Set 1: X_X_
Set 2: _X_X

Effective: XXXX (when assembled together in software).

I'm considering doing this using a few Sanyo FH1 cameras.
