Hello,

I'm Jason from England.

I eventually intend to write, produce and direct my own full length feature,
but I have decided to cut my teeth on a short drama c 10 min.

I intend to do this all with my own money c.£3,000 / $4,600, and get it shown at festivals etc.

Is there a market for drama shorts, or are they just showreel material?

Regards,

Jason.

No money in drama shorts except in very special circumstances (contests, sale to Sundance Channel, festivals with monetary awards) and even then not much money.
