Hi ROC,
I really appreciate the feedback, thanks very much. It was my first short film so I tried to assemble a group of people who'd do the project justice, pardon the pun.
3.39 - 'Cushdy' - This means comfortable, it's a saying amongst uneducated people in Yorkshire, England.
4.40 - 'Carl, what time do you call this?' - This was deliberately vague. The dialogue wasn't in the originakl script, but the extra wanted to speak authentic language to get into the required mind set.
The film is to raise public awareness about the plight of repeat, low level offenders in the British criminal justice system. Prison isn't a deterrent for many of these offenders, so the film aims to show what life would be like for an offender who isn't sent to prison, but instead is sentenced to give something back to society instead of lying in bed all day in a prison cell.
The budget for the film was small. When you say mixing, do you mean the editing? Or the work carried out by the sound effects guy?
Thanks again for the interest.
