Hey all,
Been writing my whole life but I'm just getting started in film making (in my 30's so yeah, kind of a later start) but if there is anyone in the NJ area who is working on a project I'd love to get some experience. Eventually I'd like to start making my own films from the ground up but right now I've got a lot to learn. Anyway, glad to be here.

Welcome, New Jersey.
It's never too late, just for the record.

I'm 50. Okay, in a little over a month I'll be 50. I'm in Jersey. What part are you from? I live in Iselin, right by Edison and Metro Park train station.
Metro Park is a central station that is jammed in the morning, and at night there's a tunnel that hundreds crawl through during rush hour. Of course they're on their cells, blackberries, reading books... It can take 5 minutes to get down the stairs and down the tunnel, that should take less then a minute.
There was reconstruction going on that took years to complete. Do you think they'd have widen the tunnel or built a second one? Or maybe an overhead walkway... NO. They put in colored lights and some crumby murals.
But they did raise monthly fares from $217 to $270. Gotta love NJTransit.
Now you have me regretting I didn't choose the more apropos 'Logan' as my username. Damn your exactitude!
Thanks for the welcome guys.
And yeah, I'm up in Morris County--where the trains only run West to East in tragically New Jersey shortsightedness.
I hunted around for a Morris Indie Film Group but there doesn't seem to be one. Or even really much outside of Morris for that matter. You would think the state that bred Clerks and it's progeny would have more of an Indie subculture. I suppose we're sort of swallowed up by our Big Brother across the river.

Great reference to one of my favorite movies in existence. Surprised nobody else commented on this... Take it easy Sandman!

I made a NJ Indie facebook page. Eventually when I'm ready to make my next flick, I'll start posting on it. Become a member (or friend, whatever it's called) and put a post saying where you're at. You never know.

Welcome Grasshopper!
I'm one of the audio guys here.
Keep in mind that the search function is your friend. Everyone here is always very glad to help you out, but a lot of the "basics" questions have been asked and answered many times.
And always remember:
