Buying Camcorder - Help please!

Hey, im a student and make my own films, however i dont own my own camcorder.

I have a budget of around £400-500. Im looking for a decent quality video camera to make short films with. I dont really know that much about cameras.

If anyone could list me a few video cameras up to the price of £500, or any advice that would be great thanks.

i used a sony handicam the other week, the picture was spot on and it recorded on to mini dv, although there was no external mic input and the on cam mic was dodgy... but me film is gunna be dun with over the top foley and hip hop songs haha, the model was the DCR-HC51, not a bad starter cam at all and its in a price range of 150-180, or you could look at getting a DSLR cam on camera box they start at around 300 and i'm completly in love with them, but again audio issues

Hi

Check out the Canon DLSR X2i. It shoots the same video quality as the Canon 7D, but has a few less high end features (less single stills per second, etc.)

Should give you movie quality footage for about $800.
