Hi, all. I've already posted a few times but figured I'd formally introduce myself. My name's Dan Fiore and I'm a Pittsburgh Filmmaker with an interest in making commercials, music videos, shorts and (someday) features. I direct and have written several screenplays which continually change and demand further tinkering. I've been out of the game for a few years, so I joined this forum to re-start my learning and growth as a filmmaker so that I can start producing some of these ideas in the next year or so.
I started out making (as I'm sure many filmmakers my age did) blatant Tarantino/Richie knockoffs with an abundance of guns, hitmen, pop music and weird dialogue. In the past few years, while writing some screenplays, I've matured quite a bit to the point where I'd rather tell real, original, interesting stories about the truths and complexities of real life (and, ok, maybe a FEW sci-fi, western, and action-based films because we might as well have some fun). Essentially, I just want to make films.
Anyway, hello and thanks in advance for any help, advice, discussions, etc. Feel free to send any messages or links, I always enjoy seeing other people's work and hearing other people's ideas!
