watch A few 'HD' clips on YouTube for EX1 Feature KERBEROS

Now that YouTube has added a 'viewable' HD to their uploads, I have a few clips (more coming) from the feature KERBEROS shot on the EX1. Hundreds of people across the web have commented on the stills and cinematography in the film on the site, so finally I can show you what this looks like in motion!

While not a perfect rendition, I feel that these look good enough to get the idea of the movie and how the camera and color grading can work together in less than ideal situations.

The open titles - were shot with no lights or bounce - just a guy trying to hold an umbrella while shooting!

The Prison/streets fights were shot with available streetlights, a couple 1 K's, and the headlights of the cars. The prison scene had a couple 1 K's with bounce and two high powered flashlights manned by the crowd raking across the bodies as they were fighting.

The "Hey, I didn't kill him" had a couple of 1 K's, a mini kino in the car, a handheld flashlight for fill (by the actor by the way) and the outside security lights adding a bit of depth.

And the Chase Scene - Part 1 - is only available light and shot with a crew of 1 !

More coming as well a page explaining a bit more - and of course lots of stills and frame grabs, color grading examples on the site KERBEROS movie site

That's lookin' really great; especially the openng titles bit at the cemetery.

How long you been workin' on this now? Must be close to 2 years since you first posted the "before & after" colour correction shots etc.

Good Memory! 2 years - but I am DONE! Even pulled off the mix at world famous and (world class) Twickenham Film Studios, in London...

I added the full chase scene this morning... I hope you like the progression.. :)

and last - for now - the key art... just finished a couple weeks ago... now to get this movie out there!

Since I have posted a lot of color correction tips and examples, many from this scene - I thought this might be a good scene to judge some of the results by.

Quick notes -

KERBEROS is a really low budget feature. I know there's cheaper, my first film was less than 20K and shot in 3 countries

This scene was shot in single night (a long night!) with a crew of about 4 people. Stan the Man is still bitching about my driving home after the shoot - might have been scarier than anything we filmed!

This is a one camera shoot - shot on a stock EX1

I'll guess that I shot about half the actual shots - fun since I play one of the main characters. Like many of the other 'do it yourselfers' on this forum, I wrote, directed, shot, edited, shopped and picked wardrobe, did the make up, the edit, the special fx, (you don't get to see them on this clip but you know they are coming!), redid much of the music, and probably made 20 friends that night! Of course as a filmmaker, that's after I lost all my other friends - their all back with me though

About half the guns are real... not my first choice and extra pressure! (empty of course - still nerve racking)

About half our cast I had never met before that night - yeah they brought their own!

Our final mix was completed on the massive mixing theater at Twickenham Film Studio, London... pretty sure its the lowest budget movie they ever even watched much less worked on!
