College Student -- Majoring in Film

Okay, my name is Jovan, and as embarressed as I am to say it I know little to nothing about cameras... however Im more of an Artistic person which is why I am aspiring to become a director. I just wanted to know or if possible to get the best out of the camera I buy. I have friends and family who are working with me to produce the short film and I just need any help or tips in what you would recommend for me to start filming. A good camera maybe? As long as it isnt more then $1000.00 and then the equipment like tripods and etc... just let me know. Much thanks ahead of time. -Jovan

Welcome, Jovan!

Pop over to the “Cameras & Lenses” forum. You’ll see a dozen
threads asking about cameras - both specific and general. Read
those and if you still have questions feel free to ask. Check under
my name - I have several lists.

Let me ask you something: while majoring in film does the school
teach anything about current cameras?

Thanks directorik!

I shall check out that forum real soon then lols. as Im looking for a camera that is clear in picture and quality, can zoom, and has image stabilizer.

And to answer your question, no the briefly go over camera functions and not necessarily anything about current cameras.
