I was wondering if there are any good sound effects web sites providing free clips.. Soundsnap was great untill the began charging fees for sound files.

suonddogs.com is your bud and never under estimate the power a mic in your suite. Custom foley doesn't have to always be unioned foley artists in a recording studio. When I need a thump, man I just thump. lol
it works.

Some studios will rent you out their drive full of tons of sounds for a week or something like that. That's cheaper than paying for studio time or paying for a lot of individual sounds.
