I've been using a Canon XL2 for about 2 years now and it's worked very well for me. I do not want to get rid of my XL2, however I'm looking into purchasing a high definition camera. I currently professionally produce fishing videos and am a student filmmaker so I will be making a lot of independent films in the future. Any recommendations on an HD camera? I'm happy with Canon so wouldn't mind getting another Canon. I was looking at something along the lines of the XL H1A or the XH A1S. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

My recommendation to those looking for affordable HD cams is always the HVX200a (http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=243668&surfModel=AG-HVX200A). You can get this used for around 3k...and new for around 5k. It's a very sound investment. And try and get the 'a' model, because it handles low light much better.

Here are some samples of it in action:
