I am not the most techinacally savvy guy. I am all about writing and the art part. I wanted to know little tips on easy places to read up on cutting edge technologies and also the basics.

But if you're into the art side of it, another option is to surround yourself with technically good people. People are (generally) one or the other, and I'm sure there's tons of technical guys out there just itching for some artistic stuff to work on.
