I'm just wondering, can camcorders of the NTSC format be usable in Australia (or PAL countries) in terms of capturing to computersand editing etc? I know they don't If you try connect it to a TV, but that is not a problem. I need to know this because a mate of mine is buying a new camera from ebay america and need to know urgently because bidding for 'said' camera finishes in 5 hours.

I have no idea whether it does work in Australia that why I thought I might ask ou guys

Yes :)

Edit: more specifically, you should make sure your editing software can handle it. Usually it's one of the first choices you get to make, when you start a new project.
