Hi. I'm having trouble finding an XLR box for my Sony DSR PD100. Can anyone please help me source one, preferably in Australia, or help with other options such as building one.

Thanks

Most adapter pres like the juicedLink and the Beachtek or standard field mixers like Shure, PSC, Sound Devices, etc. will take care of your needs. The biggest problem is that the DSR PD100 only takes RCA audio inputs; the adapter pres have 1/8" minipin outputs and the field mixers almost universally have XLR outputs. You will have to use an audio adapter (minipin to RCA adapter) and, if using an XLR output field mixer (XLR to RCA adapter), you will probably have to match line levels as well. Your best bet is either a juicedLink or Beachtek

Thanks Alcove.
I have a music studio and no shortage of Behringer and Yamaha pro mixers but I'm stuck when I'm running on batteries in the field. I'll check out juicedLink and Beachtek.

Just keep in mind the need for phantom power. The juicedLink CX231 and Beachtek DXA-6A both supply phantom power, the less expensive models from both manufacturers do not.
