In this movie one of the characters has the ability to make fire cover his arms. I was looking into VisionLab Studio and After Effects, and I wasn't sure which program would be better for the job. What do you think I should do?

There is a tutorial for this floating around the internet somewhere. I would start looking at creativecow.net and if that doesn't work I would just try google searching the effect. I know I have seen it before, it deals with using different displacement maps. Hope this helps.

If given the choice between after effects and vision lab pro, go for after effects. It's a much more professional program.
