new.

Hey found this site, thought it might help. I am trying to get into film making, doing shorts and such. I have a crappy hi8 camera and no mics. That's all i have to work with right now. Sound quality is an issue. I will most likely be asking a ton of questions on here and will appreciate any and all advice that is given to me. I will most likely be looking into getting a new camera very soon and have been doing some research on which is the best for someone like me. I'd like to get something that i can kind of get pro quality out of. I have worked in a news studio and have some experience working with different cameras.
What are you using? Why did you choose it? How well does it perform?
also the same for mics.

I'm one of the sound folks here. It's good to see you are concerned about your sound. There are lots of great threads already, so do a search, you can also read my blog here on IndieTalk. After you have done that you will at least know what questions to ask. We are here to help, but it does get repetitious answering the same questions over and over again.
