It works for true stories that give facts. Goodfellas and Henry Hill. For fiction, I hate it. It always takes me out of the film and ruins the ending. Just a pet peeve I guess. If something has no direct effect on the story its unnecessary and it should be avoided. Thats just my opinion, but to me it seems kind of a vanity marker. Like the writer is trying to show that he knows more about the character than the viewer does, they should they wrote it. If the info is really great, save it and write a script. But thats my opinion. |
