For the record I hate films that end with words. "Two years later Tim died." It works for true stories that give facts. Goodfellas and Henry Hill. For fiction, I hate it. It always takes me out of the film and ruins the ending. Just a pet peeve I guess.

Happy endings is quite common in Tamil films or for that matter any Indian films .The hero will serve his term and prance with his gf

I am with indietalk on this one. If something has no direct effect on the story its unnecessary and it should be avoided. Thats just my opinion, but to me it seems kind of a vanity marker. Like the writer is trying to show that he knows more about the character than the viewer does, they should they wrote it. If the info is really great, save it and write a script. But thats my opinion.
