Hi all.
Looking forward to learning as much as I can and making some contacts. I am a sixteen year old film focused high school student in a suburb outside of Vancouver, BC, Canada.
I am currently in the writing stage of a project entitled "Inner Freedom" which should turn out to be around the fourty-five minute mark.

I was 16 when I directed my first film. MUCH
less ambitious than yours it was only five minutes.
When do you think it'ss be ready to shoot?

i read that Spielberg directed his first film when he was 13 (a 40 minute western) and at the age of 16 directed a 140 minute science fiction movie called firefly. Im 20 and i still haven't directed anything .......... damn it :D
Props to you guys for starting early, realizing what you want to do at a young age allows you to dedicate precious time and energy.

I have done a number of small five minute films and PSA's. I am actually not going to be directing, I have a friend who has completed a one year program at Capilano University here who will be directing (as that is not my focus).
I am more technical, I run all theatre and film technical work at my high school (shhh, the district thinks it's our "tech facilitator" :P) I am more looking at DoP/Gaffer as my targeted career.
Also, While I'm here, to anyone who will be in BC. The Gulf Islands Film and Television School (www.giftsfilms.com) is an amazing place, you should take a course, it's really amazing what you can learn there.
