Planning my first feature

I've made 5 shorts, 3 of which turned out well... Now I'm planning my first feature to be shot next summer. Hoping to raise $20,000 dollars from investors, though I have few connections and work in a field full of low-paid do gooders! Anyway if it were easy everyone would be doing it. Wish me luck, this site is great and any advice, especially related to fund-raising would be much appreciated.

:welcome: Good luck making a feature with only 20K, it will be very tough.

I'm in the same boat as you buddy... except I've somehow convinced myself to do this for $1000 and we're shooting this fall! Good luck!

Welcome, Grasshopper!

I'm one of the sound people here, so it's no surprise that I'm telling you yo pay especial attention to sound - starting with preproduction.

Good luck!

Good luck with getting your money.
For feature length thats not a lot of money, but not at all beyond the realms of possibility. Given that there's been several films made recently on a fraction of that.
It's every director's worst nightmare to have investors who want to try and make you change stuff in the film. Hope that doesn't happen to you.

My first (not done yet) was $250... I owned all the equipment, and all made with friends. Go for it, make it work out.
