Fundraising for my company

So, before I can start working on any projects, I need equipment, right?

Does anyone have any ideas, hints or tips on how I could raise money to buy the equipment I need? I doubt it'd be like raising money for a film, where you go and talk about your project and show clips and stuff to investors?

My family (or at least, my immediate family) is not too financially well-off. I've got quite a bit to save for, so I really can't put any personal money into the company.

Any help much appreciated, and thanks in advance!

You will probably need to rent, not buy. You need to do a budget. Get with a producer to help you.

Actually, getting investors for your company is EXACTLY like
raising money for a film where you go in and talk about your
project and show clips and stuff. Since you can’t go to friends
and family and you can’t buy your own equipment then you need to
draw up a full business plan for your company.

“Investors” are not looking to donate money to someone who want to
make a movie a two. They are looking to put money into a company
that they feel will make a lot of money offer the years.

I’m sure you have a complete list of all the equipment you need,
where you will get it and exactly how much each piece is going to
cost. And I’m sure you have a full business plan for your
company along with clips of the past projects you have made.

Or are you asking us how to raise money from investors without any
of those things?

Another reason to rent/beg/borrow equipment before you buy anything expensive is for the learning experience... A. If you don't know how to rock out expensive stuff by itself it won't help you that much, B. If you have cheaper equipment you have to force yourself to learn how to use it to it's fullest potential in order to get decent footage and that in turn will help you tons later...
