Need a "cheap" camcorder.

Ok, so I like editing video and am trying to make short film to maybe enter virgin media shorts competition. But I need to upgrade my JVC GR-SXM55 an old SVHS amature camcorder (its dead old)

I need somthing under the £300 mark but featureing these specs.

mic input
widescreen
hhd or memory card recording media type

I have been considering this camera http://www.play.com/Electronics/Ele...roduct.html?searchstring=fs100&searchsource=0

The Canon FS100 seems to have some good specs for the price, i would like a Hi Def cam but its a bit out of my price range, However I did see the Toshiba Camileo H10

But this camera seems to small and features are low.

Any ideas on these handy cameras for what im after would be aprechiated.

Cheers.

Yes . I own a Canon fs100 and it rocks . It meets all of your requirements and the SDHC cards are getting cheaper all the time . You should check around for the best price. If you loose the power adapter , you should consider just getting the two battery ( with chargers ) package . It is only $35 US and the ca590 replacement adapter is $100 US , and takes a long time to arrive . I didn't see the battery deal until I already shelled out the bucks for the adapter .
