Problems With JVC HD7?

Can anyone confirm the cnet review saying

The good:
Nice manual features; attractive design; high-quality audio; low-noise, low-light video.

The bad:
Ineffectual optical stabilizer; needs a built-in ND filter; some horizontal jitter and stuttering during playback; low-resolution video; sad battery life.

The bottom line:
If this camcorder cost $500, we'd give it a much higher rating. But for its quadruple-digit price, we expect far better performance and video quality from the JVC Everio GZ-HD7.

Is "The Bad" Very accurate? Because i will be doing some handheld stuff and i think i should have image stabilization. And Low Res? I heard it was good...can anyone who owns this camera tell me more about it?

I own that camera and use it often - all hand held, usually for
"behind the scenes" footage or for "in your face" action shots.
I have never even turned on the optical stabilizer. I have found
that feature to be useless in every camera I've tried.

No built in filter hasn't been a problem for me because I always
add the needed filter anyway.

I've never noticed horizontal jitter or stuttering during playback
and I bought a bigger battery right away so I've never used the
stock battery.

Their " quadruple-digit price" statement must have been made
when the camera was first introduced. Since the HD7 was
discontinued I see them on line for $800. Maybe that's a very old
review.

My only complaint about that camera is the MPEG-2 compression
which is common to all HDD cameras. All camera manufacturers
are moving away from that to SDHC memory cards.
