Hello. I was wondering if some of you could take a look at some footage I have shot recently for narrative work.

I would like to know what you think of it and also guess what type of camera it was shot on, 16mm, 35mm, prosumer DV, pro DV, digibeta etc.
Thanks!

It's very obvious that is video.

Correct! Was shot on an XL2. I am quite happy with the overall look of it however I think there is room for improvement.
Much of the video (if viewed on a larger screen) is very noisy. Night shots are especially hard since there is no extra lighting or generator etc.

What did I win?
What was your point here, to look like film? It doesn't look bad, it just doesn't look like film.

No, I just thought it would be interesting to ask. Hey it is 4:16am here!
I am wondering why on my PC monitor the image is less contrasty and dark, when I burn to a DVD and view on a Television (LCD and CRT) it looks dark and peoples faces are nearly completely blacked out.

On my monitor the face on the right was very dark. Maybe your monitor is too bright.

I knock the brightness back on my monitor and it came out like it did on the TV. I need to find my svideo lead to hook my TV up as a 2nd monitor

Yah, monitors can be tricky, deceitful weasels.
Same as computer audio speakers, too.
There's always a bit of readjusting to do, if you use the same computer for other applications (games. music, recreational-video, whatever)
