Hey guys.
I am wanting to shoot a short film and just wanting to know as i dont have the money to buy a top camera atm, should i rent a camera out for a week (A1S etc) or save my money and in around 6 months buy a $1000usd camera.

What would you suggest?

Call your local rental house, you can usually get a two-day week or similar deal.

Are you happy with straight HD, or do you want DOF through adapters and lenses?

thats what i am trying to work out now.
If need be i will be incorporating DOF and tring various lenses and filters for the feeling of the film.

I worked it out i can save say for about 12 months and get a XM2.
I can hire a HVX2000 for about $400 aud a week (290us).

What would you do?
