I wonder if you might get more responses if you offer a little info to the writers. A little about you and your goals with the short films, what movies you have already produced of if this will be your first, what budget range are you considering - that kind of thing. And a little about what you're looking for: do you want a thriller? A comedy? Are you thinking about a really gorey zombie script? Something with a messgae? A kids story? Something in the 10 minute range or 30 to 45 minutes? We writers spend a lot of time working on our scrips. It's hard to just e-mail a copy to a producer we know nothing about. Bladerunner 02-22-2009, 10:15 PM Hi Directorik, It's so true about what you said. Writers are so underappreciated in this business and then producers tell you to email our screenplay that we labored over for months or years and they expect us to accept little or nothing for our script. And what makes it worse in this economy, some of the production companies are justifying this so they won't have to pay a cent to the writer. They don't understand that's it's a full-time job like any other job. directorik 02-23-2009, 02:33 AM I have no problem offering one of my short script to a producer for no pay. But I'm not going to send any of my scripts to a yahoo e-mail without knowing something about the producer. |
