Funding? Who's got funding??? (looks around)

I am doing the pay-out-of-my-own-pocket funding plan. It only works for a while, then it sucks....

Start with your lowest budget and then work backwards. What elements can you replace with favors, etc? Is it possible to partner with other professionals (after speaking with an knowledgeable attorney, of course) to each contribute to the project? Sometimes crew have their own equipment. Sometimes people will take an ownership percentage on the back end instead of cash up front.

Filmmaking is creative. Film finance is just as creative.
