Hi there, I'm new and I have just gotten into this industry. I am an actor/filmaker. So far I have the Sony EX3 and a new macbook pro laptop. Just got my pelican hardcase in today and finished the pluck and pull. Now I am needing to get a boom mic, and a 3 light setup kit. Any suggestions???
Please any suggestions with prices and websites would be much appreciated. My wife has just got finished converting her book into a screenplay. And we are ready to get started. A christian independant film.

Neat. :) I'm just starting a christian themed script, myself.
I've bought a couple of Britek light kits from Skaeser.com (http://skaeser.com). They are a nice family-run business.
I have the halogen continuous lighting ones, but have been looking at maybe getting some of the cool-flo heads. (The halogen ones heat up a room really fast. Likely suck a lot more power, too)
The Britek stands are fairly light, and do tend to get top-heavy when the softboxes are mounted. You always want to weigh them down, at the bottom.
No idea on mics.

Basically, a courtroom drama that goes wrong. Lots of work to do yet, though. :)

Welcome to indietalk.
Check the boards for this info. There are several very detailed posts on
mic's and lights. Under my screen name you'll find my detailed post on
mic's with names, links and prices plus my thoughts on each.
I always forget exactly where it is but if you can't find it let me know
and I'll do the search and link to it. If you have more questions on these
two things just post on that forum and someone will answer pretty quick.
