Using a monitor with a Canon GL2

Hi everybody. I am scheduled to shoot a music video for my kid bro as training for my work on a short scheduled for next year. I will be using a Canon GL2 and have decent lighting (a kit tungsten with a 650 focasable key, two 1 K lights with softboxes and a small 350 (375?) focusable light for backlighting) so I think I might be able to get some decent pictures from this effort. However, I was wondering if I can hook up my GL2 to a computer monitor (which I have) or some other form of monitor (which I don't have) in order to better view the output as I direct the puppy, or am I officially married to the GL2's small LCD screen/monitor? Thanks for your help.

GL2 should have an A/V style output that can feed an external monitor... or a laptop and a firewire cable will generate video either in iMovie (mac) or various programs on the PC (possibly WMM?)
