Does anyone here edit HD on a PC laptop? If so, could you please share your specs and your knowledge of the specs needed to handle HD video farely well and be able to play back at a normal speed?

Any insight into this will be greatly appreciated!

I would recommend using some kind of intermediate codec, like those provided by Cineform... as for computer specs, well, the faster the better. Ideally a core 2 duo at least 2GHz or faster, or a comparable Athlon chip.. as much ram as possible, and as fast a Hard drive as possible.
