Film trailers will never sound the same...

Don LaFontaine, the highly sought-after voice-over artist whose sonorous-voiced narration on several thousand movie trailers earned him the title of "The Trailer King," has died. He was 68.

LaFontaine, who also did voice-over work on countless radio and network television promotional spots and commercials, died Monday of complications after treatment for an illness at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, his family said. The illness was not specified.

I heard about this tuesday. It really is a shame. He was truly a special person in the film industry.

Yeah, if only I could find a voice changing program to match his voice for my own voiceovers! I have,Audio4fun, which isn't all that great, or maybe I just haven't figured out how to use it. but, it is a shame. I read an article a few months ago that there are about 3 guys who are used for trailers, but Don was of course the most famous.

Wow, he's gone? I'm absolutely stunned. He's just one of those figures in your life that you always expect to be there.
