VPTurner 06-01-2008, 01:08 AM "Best" is probably subjective, but I use Adobe Premiere Pro (currently 2.0). Will Vincent 06-01-2008, 03:33 AM I too prefer the Adobe Suite.. I guess my second choice would be Sony Vegas. bmoede 06-20-2008, 12:32 PM Really, if you want a good video editing platform for a reasonable price, switch to a Mac. Then you can can focus on filmmaking, not wrestling with the computer. Will Vincent 06-20-2008, 12:57 PM bmoede: Those kind of comments only lead to pissing matches of what's a better platform. At the end of the day, either can accomplish the same task and from the original post it is rather clear that adjees is not interested in switching to a mac. directorik 06-20-2008, 01:33 PM I agree with Will. adjees was very specific in the requirements. I'm glad that here on indietalk we have given up on the Mac/PC debate. Answering the asked question is so much more productive. John@Bophe 06-20-2008, 01:47 PM I downloaded all the trial versions I could find and tested them all myself. I would suggest doing the same. I ended up buying Vegas. Will Vincent 06-20-2008, 02:08 PM I think it's a pretty accurate statement to say that Vegas has the best feature set to cost ratio, and the learning curve isn't quite as steep as Premiere. adjees 06-20-2008, 10:41 PM Which one do you recomend? 1. Vegas Movie Studio 2. Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition 3. Vegas Pro Thanks, Will Vincent 06-21-2008, 01:46 AM Depends on your needs.. I'm fairly certain that Vegas Pro is the only one that will handle HD/HDV footage, so if you plan on doing any of that either now or in the future, the extra cost is worth it. meaneye 07-22-2008, 12:13 AM I was using Sony Vegas for about a year and a half before i switched to Mac. Sony Vegas did everything i needed and it was so easy to learn. I then had a brief stint with Avid which was also pretty easy to learn and more powerful than i needed at the time. I then switched over to final cut on the mac mainly because the industry seemed to be heading in that direction. But simply to answer your question .. my opinion is that Avid is the best program for windows and its also mac compatible. |
