I make home movies, but I don’t know how to find (or create) the perfect sound to capture a mood. Need sound advice!

perhaps you should give a little more info. What kind of sound are we talking here? dialogue? sound effects? music? Ambience? Each catagory has a different workflow, and different methods for recording.
