Soon i will be slaving to the man and earing some cash. So before i go and save up for an hv20 which is what i hoped for. I want to know if cameras such as the DVX100b already has great DOF capabilities? Vs the hv20 in which i would have to buy a 35mm adapter for. Basically there is nothing i would have to buy/make for the dvx100b to make it have DOF capabilities?

-Thanks in advance

The DOF variance is based on the physical size of the sensor plane. Therefore, the Panasonic with 1/3" CCDs would have somewhat more DOF than the HV20 with a single 1/2.7" (larger) CMOS sensor. Which means, in layman's terms that you will not get "great DOF" with the Panasonic. You can, however, purchase a 35mm adapter for the DVX-100(b), if you wanted to go that route. It is not going to give you less DOF out of the box, though.
