Anybody here on indietalk ever subscribed to imdbpro? was/is it worth it, and if so under what circumstances? is it worth the $13/month to have it beyond the free imdb.com?

I took them up on their free 30 day demo of it and found that all the 'pro' content was mostly information that can be found for free elsewhere on the 'web (with much searching).

It was nice to see the 'pro' content centralized on IMDB, but worth $13 a month? Not worth it in my eyes.

Others may disagree with me.

Yeah it just seemed to me that $13/month was quite steep, I could see many $2/month. I have a hard time believing that the pro content will have contact info for major actors, producers, and all. Maybe the $13 month is meant to keep hosers like me off their site and not bothering those of importance though :rolleyes:

Yeah I don't think IMDB lists contact info.. but you can get it (for actors anyway) here:

I actually wrote Rosanna Arquette about 15 years ago using such a site, got a reply and a nice 8x10 with her autograph and a nice personalized message, that was pretty cool. I loved her in The Big Blue (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094738/), and her romcoms, like Nobody's Fool (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091642/) written by oscar nominated writer Beth Henley.
