Hello, I'm an independent filmmaker/animator. I've been working on an animated short film for a few years now, and I'm at the point where I'm ready to hire actors for the voice talent. I'm pretty new to the whole hiring REAL actors for films, so I'm looking for some information here! From what I know, I need to become a signatory producer to hire SAG actors. Does anyone know where I go/where I contact to become a signatory producer and what that process entails?

You contact SAG. How you get classified (and thus what you have to pay your actors) depends largely on the budget and circumstances of your production.
