General Statement from the Producers and about the Director:
Actors will receive “deferred pay” as per the SAG Short Film Agreement. This film has an adequate budget, and though it is our intention that as much of the money as possible end up on screen, we enjoy the collaborative nature of filmmaking and are committed to establishing on set conditions that though challenging at times consistently support an atmosphere of integrity and respect toward all members of the cast and crew. We are meticulous in our choice of Craft Services, do our best to keep days at 10 hrs/ day and subscribe to the 12 ON / 12 OFF philosophy. The film’s tone and style is in the vein of an edgy, Guy Ritchie/ Tarantino approach, modern Hong-Kong cinema action, or the recent Joe Carnahan flick “Smokin’ Aces.”

With seasoned and experienced Producers, a trained, experienced, focused Director who “knows what he wants” and Crew of accomplished professionals, the motivation behind making this short is: 1) To keep working and developing our skill, and 2) A way to sell a feature film package. We are shooting in HD quality for highly regarded Festivals with Hollywood caliber cinematography and production values.

This is the Director's fourth film. We always get festival play. One of the Director's earlier action-comedy short films won a Gold Remi Award for Original Comedy at the 2004 WorldFest Houston International Film Festival. His most recent film was screened at several national and international festivals and was broadcast on NBC/Universal’s Independent Producer’s Showcase in the NY Tri-State area.

The official project website will be at http://films.pointzeropictures.com and will include a trailer, and cast, crew and production photos. You may also view our previous films here.

Description of Roles (SAG/ non-SAG):
(We are looking for career-minded, reliable, responsible, committed professionals and collaborators)

MITCH: Lead (90% screen time) Caucasian male, 25-30, 5'7"-6'0". Mitch is a rookie undercover narcotics agent; a dreamer who finds himself somewhat out of his element, he is about to meet KEIKO, the girl of his dreams. Captivated by her ingenuous charm, he is compelled by immediate circumstances to protect her, and is surprised to find his new found sweetheart transform without warning into a ferocious warrior goddess fighting fearlessly by his side. This role calls for both dramatic and comedic talent. There will be some stunt coordinated action so candidates must be comfortable handling weapons and with staged fighting. This is an exceptional opportunity offering exposure in a breakout role and a potential international feature film franchise.

KEIKO: (40% screen time) Japanese female 19-25. Keiko is young, rich and adorably “cool Japan, kawaii.” She has run away from her father, a Yakuza boss, in search of “Hollywood.” She meets Mitch on her first day in LA and falls for him immediately. Towards the end of the film it is revealed she has “ninja” skills and together she and Mitch prevail over Kazimir and his henchmen. There will be some stunt coordinated action so candidates must be comfortable handling weapons and with staged fighting. Offering great exposure in a breakout role and a potential worldwide feature film franchise, this part calls for an attractive Japanese girl with considerable comedic and dramatic talent.

DIESEL: (20% screen time -- 1 or 2 days of shooting) Male, 40-55. Mitch’s boss and mentor. Though somewhat jaded and obviously tired of “the game”, Diesel is a humorous, cool and collected middle aged man.

KAZIMIR: (50% screen time) Caucasian male, 30-40. A Russian gangster, must be able to consistently pull off a believable Russian accent and with dialog coaching speak a few Russian lines. Kazimir is well educated, ruthless and disillusioned. Seduced by the dream of the good life, he was invited to LA by his cousin, only to find himself abandoned and feeling victimized and miserable.

GALENA: (Small speaking role - plenty of screentime) Female 19-30. Kazimir's No. 1 girl. Russian accent preferred. Galena is a high class prostitute that Kazimir has brought over from Russia along with TATIANA, her cousin and “romantic friend.” Candidates need to be okay with some light kissing and frolicking between the girls, comfortable wearing revealing lingerie, and possible upper body nudity with back to the camera. The girls share a pet, SASHA, a baby pot bellied pig, so you would also need to be comfortable with that. DO NOT SUBMIT UNLESS YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS. As a perk we can provide stills from the film for your portfolio.

TATIANA: (Non-speaking role - plenty of screen time) Galena’s “romantic friend.” Candidates need to be okay with some light kissing and frolicking between the girls, comfortable wearing revealing lingerie, and possible upper body nudity with back to the camera.

DOPEY: (Kazimir’s Henchman #1) - non-speaking role; though plenty of action, must be able to act and follow direction well.

SNEEZY: (Kazimir’s Henchman #2) - non-speaking role; though plenty of action must be able to act and follow direction well.
