Yeah pretty cool :) About time. A great day of awards, FIS and oscars. Real sad that Binta Y La Gran Idea didn't win Best Live Action Short, we had the Idaho Premiere of it at Lakedance. Wonder film if any of you get to see it.

I didn't hear until this morning.. :( Was watching the oscars, but crashed after an hour and a half or so...

But, it's about time! He should have taken it with the Aviator, if not sooner.. but better late than never I guess.

I think he should have been given the award for Goodfellas, one of my fav top-10 films.

When Speilberg, Lucas and Coppola all came out to announce the award, I knew. They wouldn't call out this pack of Hollywood Untouchables for just anyone. That's when I started to tear up. It was Scorsese's night.

Agreed. It's one of those films that no mater how many times you've seen it, if you come across it on TV you can sit back and watch again. Jaws is another.

Unfortunately it was a pity win. After "Aviator" people were going on and on about how he SHOULD have won considering he'd been nominated so many times. I think the win means nothing.
