Indie Previews Site

A few days ago I started thinking that, "Gee... wouldn't it be cool if I could get my preview up on Apple's site?" Unfortuntately for many of us that will never happen due to cost. The same goes for Yahoo and other sites that provide previews to the public.

So what are we left with? Sites scattered about that, unless you're a filmmaker, probably aren't looking for, video sites that accept everything and anything such as Youtube and our own official sites that, again, unless the movie going public is specifically looking for they probably won't find it.

I decided to set up a vodcast (http://indiepreviews.blogspot.com) so that an RSS feed could be created thus delivering previews to subscribers through such services as iTunes. This way we have a single place to stream our previews and hopefully encourage people who never have sampled low budget films to give them a shot.

Now, there are a few things people need to be aware of though. Not all previews or clips will be accepted. They have to have look and sound professional. Home movies with on-camera mics will not be accepted. Also, they should be in Apple's M4V format (though I can convert it if you don't have a way). Nothing pornographic will be accepted. And finally, the clip will be posted on archive.org (I don't have the space or bandwidth on my server to host what will hopefully become a large archive).

If anyone is interested in submitting their preview and/or clip feel free to contact me. If the video is accepted it will be posted on the blog for everyone to see. Also, if your film is for sale, let me know what the link is so people know how to buy it.

This idea is designed to help us all out by getting our previews and clips out to people. I need your help to make it work!
